datamena celebrates the success of Capacity Middle East 2014
Dubai, UAE, 13 March 2014 - Dubai, UAE: datamena served as the official sponsor of Capacity Middle East 2014 and is now pleased to announce that the conference – which ran from 3-5 March at the UAE’s Grand Hyatt – proved to be a highly successful event, resulting in several major partnerships.
datamena is a pioneering carrier neutral data centre and connectivity platform based in the UAE and servicing the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Capacity Middle East 2014 is the annual flagship event for the Middle Eastern and international carrier communities; this year’s ninth edition brought together over 850 delegates representing more than 230 companies.
datamena announced several partnerships in the lead-up to and during Capacity Middle East 2014, including:
• An agreement with Türk Telecom International to establish a PoP (Point-of-Presence) in datamena
• An MoU with China Comservice to expand its service portfolio into the Middle East through presence in datamena
• A partnership to build a Disaster Recovery facility for the UAE operations of Sky News Arabia
Experts from datamena and du also participated in Capacity Middle East’s panel discussions. Hany Ali, Executive Vice President - Enterprise Marketing, du, took part in the Executive Q&A entitled ‘Examining Investment Strategies for the Middle Eastern Telecoms Market’. In addition, Mahesh Jaishankar, President - datamena, was a panelist for ‘Increasing Cooperation within the Middle Eastern & International Content Ecosystems’.
